The location
The North East Coast
Reached by picturesque coastline roads, the North East Coast of Corfu is the place to enjoy your holiday. The Greek villages in this area possess a more traditional feel, being less commercialised than much of the other places on the island. Being free from dangerous currents, even the sea poses no danger, adding to the fact that Corfu is one of the safest places in the world. With all these benefits, it’s not surprising that V.I.P’s, both from inside and out of Europe, already have villa holidays here.
Kassiopi
Once the capital of Corfu, Kassiopi lies 36km north of Corfu Town and its airport. The village displays a magnificent backdrop of Mount Pantokrator on one side and the Albanian coastline on the other. Throughout the surrounding area, the hills are covered with a sea of olive groves, vines and citrus plantations. Kassiopi itself provides a satisfying array of possibilities: from an offering of both traditional Greek and international cuisine, to lively bar culture, to leisurely walks of the Byzantium castle ruins and escapist relaxation on idyllic beaches. The variety of choice makes Kassiopi quite cosmopolitan. Despite being established, it retains something of its fishing village past and importance in ancient history. Local fishermen will dock in the traditional port with their catch for the day next to the modern boats!
